Title: Environmental Extension Officer - Gold Coast

We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Extension Officer to assist our client to continue to manage vegetation along roadside corridors within South Coast Hinterland District, based at Nerang. The primary objective of this role is to assist with the delivery of high quality environmental solutions including on-ground vegetation management (weed control, planting, monitoring), develop and coordinate landscape and maintenance projects, provide technical advice and liaise with the community.
The suitable candidate will possess the following:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, horticulture or equivalent experience;
Minimum of 1-3+ years experience in the environmental sector;
Working knowledge of vegetation establishment techniques, bush regeneration, vegetation management, weed control and plant ID;
Practical field based experience a necessity;
Team work orientated and positive attitude;
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills,
Ability to manage projects meeting tight deadlines and budgets; and
ACDC (weed spraying) and current class “C” driver’s licence.
